Vacation - Day 4

I felt much better the next morning.

We were at port in Cozumel for day four of our vacation. Cozumel happens to be where Nathan and I went on our honeymoon five years ago, so it was very nice to be making a stop there on this trip. We had decided after the previous day that we wanted to do something while in port, some activity. So we set our sights on renting wave runners. Yeah…ok. We got a taxi and headed downtown and decided to take the ferry over to Playa del Carmen for this.

As soon as we got off the ferry, several people were more than willing to help us find wave runners to rent (i.e. spend our money...). It was only going to be a brief wait, then longer, then there was only one to rent.

We were hot, sweaty, tired, and annoyed, so instead we headed to Senor Frogs for a frozen cocktail to cool us down:

We spent some time lazing on the beach:

Did some sovenier shopping:

And a couple hot, sticky, sweaty hours later, we got back in line to take the ferry back to Cozumel:

There was a crab…

Ooops! (honest mistake really, I mean, does he look happy to you??)

No really, a real crab, climbing around on the rocks:

We had noticed on the taxi ride that there was a new addition to the city since our last visit. One of our favorite places…Margaritaville! We collect the glasses from there, so of course we had to stop in. This was by far the nicest one of the chain we had seen yet, and we’ve seen five of them:

It had a deck overlooking the ocean, an outdoor bar:

An indoor bar:
A very nice gentleman who spoke little to no English who came over and made guacamole tableside for us – we loved it! I encountered a rather intoxicated fellow cruiser on the way to the bathroom - she viewed the stairs as if they were Everest:

After several attempts at step one, I jokingly asked her if I should go first. She was not amused. It was 4:50 and they were supposed to be back at their ship by 5:00, so she explained to me over the course of our five minute climb to the top. After directing her to the proper gender’s bathroom (because the signs were in Spanish - even the pictures apparently...), I left to rejoin Nathan…We are pretty sure that she did not make it to her ship on time...

We had a great time there, finished our souveniers up in their shop and headed back to the port. One last stop though…the resort we stayed in for our honeymoon. Just to snap a quick photo and then be on our way:

We elected to have the casual dinner that night and forego the seated one. Our dinner partners probably assumed I was still sick.

We did a little gambling in their Casino Royale and spent a little time in the night club before heading back to the stateroom. Nathan’s turn to not feel well that evening.
