Vacation - Day 2

Nathan woke up before sunrise (this is very unusual) and went out on our balcony to watch the sunrise and get some pictures. I thought he did a fantastic job with our new camera:

A small part of me was sad I didn’t get to watch it with him, but a bigger part – the part that had been getting up with Brenna multiple times a night every night for the last two months – was perfectly happy to have slept in until nine!!

After the sun had risen, he went back to sleep. We both enjoyed a delicious breakfast (literally the best French Toast I have ever had!) in the dining room and got packed up to head over to the cruise port. We had assumed that we would sit around at Port Everglades for some time before being able to board the ship, only to find they were allowing passengers to board early (yay!). So after very little waiting we dropped off our luggage and took the gangway onto the ship.

The ship, The Enchantment of the Seas, was beautiful:

The main lobby had a six-story atrium with two glass elevators and large picture windows surrounding every level providing an exotic view while we were sailing:

Nathan kept making "cute" at sea disaster references like "Posideon Adventure", moving on...

We headed to our cabin to drop off the carry-on pieces and then went to the Windjammer dining room for lunch. Did I mention yet that there was a lot of eating on this trip?? Moving on…by the time we were done with lunch our luggage had arrived at the stateroom (they are all called staterooms, no matter how small they are):

Changed into the suits and went to the pool deck. As soon as we exited the elevator there were waiters with our tropical drinks with umbrellas (woo-hoo!!) and of course we didn’t want to risk hurting their feelings, so…

We spent a lot of time at the pool that day before we decided to get ready for dinner. Thank goodness we chose the later seating, otherwise we would have missed most of our dinners! The “My Fair Lady” dining room was gorgeous:

Our dinner partners were Tony Soprano (as Nathan liked to call him), his wife, their thirteen year-old daughter, and her friend. They were a very nice group and we had a decent dining experience with them for the duration of the cruise. Nathan and I are convinced that Tony was in the witness protection program, but it was interesting to say the least.
