As mentioned, Nathan and I recently returned for our first vacation alone in five years. It was wonderful. The vacation was ultimately a Caribbean cruise, however we had one day prior to boarding the ship to spend in Ft. Lauderdale. So we flew to Florida on Wednesday morning (after only 3 hours of delays at the airport) and arrived at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort for our first night of vacation. It was beautiful!! Right on the beach, nice pool set-up, long beach front porch, great restaurant, and the room itself was gorgeous!

We immediately changed into our suits and headed down to the beach, where I was sure to get two seashells to bring home for the girls. Walked along the beach for a while in the surf and then headed to the pool.
Several hours and cocktails later, we went upstairs and got ready for dinner. After Nathan was eaten alive by bugs on that wonderful front porch, we headed inside. We squeezed in one more walk on the beach at night before calling it an evening and then headed in.
